Velveeta Mac n Cheese
Ingredients:
12 oz elbow macaroni or shell pasta
2 tbsp unsalted butter
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
2 cups whole milk
1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)
1/2 tsp paprika (optional, for color)
12 oz Velveeta cheese, cubed
Salt and black pepper to taste
Directions:
Cook the Pasta:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Make the Cheese Sauce:
In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, to create a roux. Slowly pour in the milk while whisking to ensure there are no lumps.
Season and Thicken:
Stir in the garlic powder and paprika, if using. Cook the mixture for 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently, until slightly thickened.
Add the Velveeta Cheese:
Reduce the heat to low and add the Velveeta cubes. Stir continuously until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy.
Combine with Pasta:
Add the cooked pasta to the cheese sauce and toss until evenly coated. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.
Serve and Enjoy:
Serve the Velveeta Mac n Cheese warm, garnished with a sprinkle of paprika or fresh parsley if desired.
