Goulash Recipe
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
1 cup beef broth
2 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon caraway seeds (optional for authentic flavor)
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 cup elbow macaroni
Sour cream, for serving
Instructions
Brown the Beef:
In a large pot, cook the ground beef over medium heat until fully browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
Sauté the Vegetables:
Add the chopped onion, green bell pepper, and minced garlic to the pot. Cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are softened and fragrant.
Build the Sauce:
Stir in the diced tomatoes (with their juices), tomato sauce, beef broth, paprika, and caraway seeds. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, then reduce the heat to low and let it cook for 20 minutes to develop the flavors.
Cook the Pasta:
Add the elbow macaroni to the pot and stir well. Cover and cook for 8-10 minutes, or until the pasta is tender, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
Serve and Enjoy:
Ladle the goulash into bowls and top with a dollop of sour cream for a creamy, tangy finish.
Cooking Time: ~35 minutes | Serves: 4-6
Pro Tip: For extra flavor, sprinkle fresh parsley or grated cheese on top before serving. Pair it with crusty bread for the ultimate comfort meal!
