Classic and hearty slow cooker pot roast

Here’s how to do it:

Ingredients :

3-4 pound chuck roast

1 tablespoon of olive oil

1 teaspoon of salt

1 teaspoon of black pepper

1 tablespoon of garlic powder

1 tablespoon of onion powder

4 carrots peeled and cut into pieces

4 large russet potatoes, peeled and cut into pieces

1 sliced onion

3 minced garlic cloves

2 cups of beef broth

2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce

2 sprigs of fresh thyme

1 branch of fresh rosemary

2 tablespoons of cornstarch (optional, for thickening)

Instructions :

Preparation: Heat the olive oil in a frying pan and season the chuck roast with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and bamboo powder.

Cooking: Place the roast in hot oil for 2-3 minutes on each side, then place it in the slow cooker. Lay the carrots, potatoes, and onions down. Pour beef broth over everything and add Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, thyme and rosemary. Cover and bake on low for 8-9 hours or high for 5-6 hours.

Finishing Touches: For a thicker sauce, mix 1/2 cup cooking liquid with cornstarch, stir in stove and cook for an additional 10-15 minutes.

Serve: Shred the roast and serve with vegetables and broth stacked on top.
