Amish Hamburger Steak Bake

Ingredients:

1 ½ lbs ground beef
1 medium onion, diced
1 cup breadcrumbs
2 eggs, beaten
½ cup milk
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
1 cup beef broth
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup mashed potatoes (optional, for topping)
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Directions:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, diced onion, breadcrumbs, beaten eggs, milk, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until well combined.
Press the meat mixture into the greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup and beef broth until smooth. Pour this mixture over the beef layer.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
After 30 minutes, remove the dish from the oven and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top. If desired, add dollops of mashed potatoes over the cheese layer.
Return to the oven and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove from the oven, let it cool for 5 minutes, and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
