– 1 tsp (5g) paprika
– 1 tsp (5g) garlic powder
– 1 tsp (5g) salt
– 1/2 tsp (2g) black pepper
– 1/4 tsp (1g) cayenne pepper (optional) - Wet mixture:
– 1 cup (240ml) buttermilk
– 1 egg, beaten - Coating: 1 cup (60g) panko breadcrumbs
- Frying oil: Vegetable oil for frying
For Cool Ranch Dip:
- Sour cream: 1 cup (240g)
- Ranch seasoning: 1-2 tbsp (15-30g)
- Garlic powder: 1/2 tsp (2g)
- Chopped fresh dill: 1 tbsp (15g)
- Salt and pepper: To taste
Instructions
- Prepare mushrooms: Clean and slice mushrooms.
- Create breading station: Mix dry ingredients, wet ingredients and panko breadcrumbs separately.
- Dredge mushrooms: Dip mushroom slices in flour mixture, then wet mixture, and finally panko breadcrumbs.
- Fry mushrooms: Heat 1/2-inch (1cm) vegetable oil in a skillet to 350°F (180°C). Fry mushrooms in batches until golden brown (3-4 minutes). Drain excess oil.
- Make Cool Ranch dip: Mix sour cream, ranch seasoning, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
