Ingredients:

2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 cup long-grain white rice
2 cups chicken broth
1 small onion, finely diced
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for spice)
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
1/4 teaspoon dried parsley (for garnish)

Directions:

Toast the Rice:

Heat the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
Add the rice and sauté for 2-3 minutes until lightly golden, stirring frequently to avoid burning.

Cook the Aromatics:

Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the pan. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant and softened.

Add the Broth and Spices:

Pour in the chicken broth, then stir in paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper (if using), black pepper, and salt. Mix well.

Simmer the Rice:

Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and simmer for 15-18 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid is fully absorbed.

Fluff and Serve:

Remove from heat and let the rice sit covered for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork, garnish with dried parsley, and serve warm as a side dish to steak, chicken, or seafood.
